  • Weise and Folin traded to the Habs...

...for David Schlemko and Byron Froese.

Spot open for Myers or Morin.

Flyers retain about $100K on Folin's contract. Schlemko is signed for one more season at just over $1M.

UFA for UFA and a contract with 1 year left at half the cost of Weises contract. Myers takes Folins spot with Flyers and Schlemko takes Myers spot with Phantoms. Basically as mentioned above a move to open a spot for Myers and Morin

With Dale Waste finally gone next up are Lehtera,AMac and Neuvirth.

I think that Lehterš is essentially gone already, and not back after this season regardless.

I wouldn't expect MacDonald to go anywhere now for the rest of this season, other than to the pressbox as the 7th if Myers (should) win a spot in the top-6 (or even as the 8th if Morin gets back fully healthy while all other defensemen remain healthy).

Likewise, unless he is somehow insisting on being back on the healthy full roster, just let Neuvirth's recovery continue to go nice & slow & deliberate on IR and not risk the re-injury that is surely imminent.

Oops. They didnít link. I canít seem to link it now that I try again. Basically said he is thrilled to go back to Montreal and he had lost his emotion and never felt the same not playing there. Says he will go to Laval (AHL) and earn his spot in MTL

One thing Schlemko does bring if he comes back up from AHL eventually is equal comfort in playing LD or RD. Blocks a lot of shots (401 in 228 NHL games over last 4 seasons), OK puck mover. Has limitations and his contract was one Habs wanted to get rid of, but not bad depth D.

Fletcher said the team's current 8-0-1 run has not altered his pre-deadline outlook.

Fletcher stopped short of saying Myers is up with the big club to stay for rest of the season. Talked about getting him some NHL games now. Said come training camp in Sept., he'll have a good chance to compete for an everyday job. Of course, ala Hart, he could change that plan...

Winnipeg Jets a very distant #2
The rest of the 29 teams can KMA!

It will be interesting to see how Weise responds. Looks like he will see at least one round of the playoffs. Probably best for both sides for this deal.
