  • Klotz signed with the Flyers.

JVR staying another year at UNH, but his coach hinted it might be his last.
"He's only 19," Umile said. "He can continue to develop and get himself ready for pro hockey. Hopefully after next year he'll be ready for the NHL."

Thanks for the updates. Interested in seeing what Klotz can do. He'll spend a few years with the Phantoms but if he can continue to skate like he does now and put on some weight he could be an effective heavy weight.
      "Oh, We got five. Ohhhhh."

      • I hope to be proven wrong but I think that the Klotz pick in the 3d round was the strangest the Flyers have made in years. Wish they had gone for Maxim Mayorov or a talent forward. For a third rounder, you have to hope for a multi-talented player and Klotz, from what I've read, is not that player.

        • Gatineau up 7-2 with 9 minutes left. Giroux has 1g 2a. He now has 51 points and he broke the Gatineau Playoff point record.

Yeah, I have to give you that. And with the emergence of Cote i'm not feeling the necessity of the heavyweight now. We'll see though, he's a huge kid.

            • we have to understand that we are going to lose this series, we need to look at our prospects and understand that in 2008 we are finished

              • Just have to understand that you are outclassed at some point. Sucks, but the only chace of the Flyers winning is in 2009, but even then is not that great a chance.

ok, I have to stand by what I said in the Prediction Sticky, but with new evidence you are clearly correct

With all due respect to Kimmo's ankle, I think Garrett "Blood" Klotz has the potential for the best nickname for a prospect who will never play in the NHL....
