  • Phantoms vs. Bridgeport (pregame notes)

Hello all, and welcome back to hockey at the Civic Center after a long break. I’ll be updating this post all game, so keep hitting refresh for the latest. You can also follow updates on my Twitter feed (@PSPhantoms). The game is on radio at Q-101.7 FM or streaming online through the Phantoms site.

7:05: *Have to see what happens in the game, but in warmups, Ross was centering Laliberte and Legein… hmm.

    – Johan Backlund led the Phantoms out in warmups. Usually means the Big Swede is getting the nod in goal.

    – Sean Curry and Krys Kolanos are both on ice and will play. Kolanos missed last 3 w/injury, Curry has been out 4.

6:45: Big pregame news: David Laliberte is back from the Flyers and will be in the lineup for the Phantoms. That’s huge. Laliberte scored two goals and had three points in four games with the Flyers.

That raises a big question about the lines: will Laliberte return to the right wing of the Pat Maroon/Jon Matsumoto line? They had been great together, but Stefan Legein had been strong there as well while Laliberte is away. One of those is going to bump somewhere, but where? Will we see Legein on Ross line?

In Binghamton news, left wing Tim Spencer will miss the game due to an AHL suspension. He’s out three games for leaving the bench during a fight at Norfolk on Nov. 11.
