  • Phantoms 1, Rochester 0 (1st intermission)

Sorry for the late start to blogging, I was chasing down a story about the Phantoms’ reaction to the Albany River Rats move to Charlotte officially announced on Wednesday. I’ll be posting live updates here, just keep hitting refresh for the latest. You can also follow along on Twitter (@PSPhantoms) or listen on WNYQ-101.7 FM or streaming online at phantomshockey.com. I’ll be the second intermission guest with Owen Newkirk to talk about what the Rats’ move means to the Phantoms.

    FIRST PERIOD

END FIRST: Strong period for the Phantoms, except as usual, thery’re lacking finish. Game could be 3-0. In the final couple of minutes. Pat Maroon missed a backdoor tip-in to a wide-open net on a diagonal pass from Jon Matsumoto.

4:00: Phantoms get the game’s first power play.

5:15: Jon Kalinski came clean down the wing and beatAlexander Salak to put the Phantoms up 1-0. Previously, Salak had made a sliding stick save across his crease to ob David Laliberte on a 2-0n-1.
