  • Patrick Out 7-10 Days

Just what we need to go along with the JVR injury! They are only saying "upper body injury" but you have to assume it's a minor concussion based on getting hit up high with the stick and quietly leaving the game along with this timeline.

Nolan Patrick will be out 7-10 days for the Philadelphia Flyers because of an upper-body injury.

The 20-year-old forward was injured during a 7-4 win against the Ottawa Senators at Canadian Tire Centre on Wednesday. He missed the final 8:34 of the first period after a hit from Senators forward Mark Stone with 8:44 left.

Patrick returned to play one shift in the second period but left the game 4:40 into the period.

He has seven shots on goal and a minus-5 rating in four games this season.

You don't typically get a day count on a concussion tho...

    Could be shoulder/neck/ribs...

At most it's 4 games going by the 7 to 10 days...

Getting another concussion, by itself, doesn't make me think he's concussion-prone. But the worrisome part is that this one seemed to happen without too much contact. That hit he took on the boards looked harmless and he spun out of it perfectly. Wish we had a better angle on the high stick to see how bad it was.

Hopefully this means that the Flyers are just being hyper-cautious.

Yea thats true, might be a minor ding. I wish they would go back to giving actual injury info during the regular season. Helps the fans not panic

i don't think it's necessarily a head injury..if he got hit in the face...he might just have swelling or something similar...and they have put a time table on his return..typically we get the "not sure" about his return

Could be shoulder etc, but I wonder if the club has a concussion policy where they shut guys down 7-10 days regardless of how well they say they're feeling after a few days. Who knows...

                  Sage burning cleansing time....
                  Flyers
                  Travis Konecny - C
Left practice early after taking a puck off his foot.

                  Bill Meltzer
Konecny can't continue. Leaving the ice. Could be foot or groin but definitely lower-body.
                  Dave Isaac
Travis Konecny just took an Ivan Provorov shot to the inside of his right foot and off the ice he goes.

This is not good. Way too early to be missing talented players. Someone needs to step up and take the 2C role...and our PP2 is pretty much completely gone (not that it has done much in the first few games).

Sure hope Lindblom picks up his game and becomes a real player for us....with challenges come opportunities. Please let someone take hold of the flame!
