  • GDT: Flyers @ Blues

    8PM ET

Elliott to start, as planned. Hart out 2-3 weeks, so Lyon is the backup. This would be a good game for Elliott to get pumped up against his former team.

Farabee out of the lineup to make room under the cap for Lyon. Stewart is on waivers but will play, in order to make the numbers work out on paper. Since the writing has to be on the wall now that he's deemed expendable, maybe we get whatever he can pass off as a monster game tonight, to try and justify him sticking around.

The big x-factor is the road here. Which Flyers do we get?

if there’s a good game for stewart to get in there it could be this one, blues play a heavy game

Stewart will only play tonight. Once he clears waivers, we regain the cap space and Farabee can be recalled. So essentially this game is treated like Farabee is a healthy scratch and Stewart plays a few minutes on the fourth line. More or less a paper move which needs a day to resolve and unfortunately we have a game on that day!

I don't expect to win this one with the Blues an elite team and coming in with I believe a 9 game home winning streak, tied with Washington as the top team in the NHL (67 points) and a 17-4-3 home record. Add that to the Flyers' struggles on the road and it doesn't look good. Maybe this is the game where they buck that trend, but I wouldn't count on it. Another tough spot because they have to travel tonight to play a home game against Montreal tomorrow. At least the Canadiens are also in action tonight, home against Chicago. We'll need to win that one!

Good 2nd period by the Flyers...got 2, but could have had 4.

Fantastic game with a lot of energy from both sides. Almost had a rivalry feel to it. Jake nets the winner...and he was very involved again. Good to have him playing with this intensity.

Prior to Jakes goal in OT, there was a shot JJ said hit the post, but 2 flyers raised their sticks. It also didn't make a noise like post shot. Will the league still review it? Could they have scored twice in OT?

Beauty goal by Jake and great way to seal it in the end. OT wins against western teams is just as good as a regular win.

Great job overcoming adversity in the third period and getting the two points. The officiating was horrible...very one sided and it dictated the momentum of the game. You usually don't hear players talking about the refs in a post game interview, but both Konecny and Voracek did just that.

3-1 in this brutal 4 game stretch including a road win against the defending champs. Now they have to keep it up and not blow the easier points!

The refs were making me think the Blues were suddenly a Canadian team and this was hockey night in Canada. The ice was a bit tilted.

That was a great road game. Fun to watch.
